Nov 10 Legends of Ska Panama Premiere Fim Screening – BOOKSTORE BAR “Without Ska, there is no Reggae.”
Director Brad Klein premieres a documentary about development of Ska music in 1950’s and 60’s Jamaica and its effect on Caribbean music we know today.
8pm screening of the film followed by a Q & A session with the director and a live DJ set.

Nov 2: Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) – A day to remember the loved ones who’ve passed and note that it is a dry day, meaning the sale of alcohol is prohibited.
Nov 3: Día de la Separación de Colombia – Panamá was once a part of Colombia and began its separation from Colombia on this date in the year 1903.
Nov 4: Día de la Bandera (Flag Day)
Nov 5: Día de Colón – The day the separation from Colombia was official.
Nov 10: Día del Grito de Independencia – This day commemorates the day the movement towards the independence from the Spanish crown began.
Nov 28: Día de la Independencia – Panama (formally part of La Gran Colombia) officially gained its independence from the Spanish on this date

Nov 16: Bocas Day: “Rumba, bomba y plena” and lots of parades all night and day on Isla Colon
Nov 23: Bastimentos Day: Similar to Bocas day but totally Basti’ style. Check out the festivities in Old Bank (Bastimentos Town)! Only a short boat ride away from the main island of Colon.
